The Second Rise does not offer GF options at this time. According to Beyond Celiac, “While the natural bacteria may make it easier to digest, and the fermentation process decreases the amount of gluten, it still does not reach 20ppm (parts per million) or less of gluten, which is how the United States defines gluten-free foods.” Read more >>
Yes! The Second Rise focaccia and croutons are vegan and our bagels can be easily made vegan. This option is listed when placing your bagel order.
Although I do my best to sanitize and keep my ingredients separate and well-sealed, nuts and seeds, dairy, eggs and fish products are regularly consumed in my home. Because of this, I cannot guarantee that there will be no cross-contamination of common allergens.
Store your bread and bagels in reusable bread bags or a bread box! I do not recommend storing in the refrigerator, but my products can be frozen in airtight containers for future use. To refresh focaccia, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, drizzle or brush with oil and heat for 5-10 minutes. To refresh bagels, you can simply slice and toast in a toaster. My favorite way is to slice and place cut side down on cast iron skillet heated to medium/low with melted butter, cover with a lid to create a bit of steam. This will bring back the fresh bagel “squish” you might be missing with toasting! Heat until golden and toasty!
